Omega Medical Center, a leader in occupational and employee health in Delaware and the Mid-Atlantic region for more than 25 years hired Flexera over several other solar companies because they provided the best comprehensive energy saving solutions. Flexera was contacted initially to provide feasibility studies for solar power, but after interviews with the center's partners, Flexera's experts concluded that there were more factors that needed addressing in addition to solar. Flexera energy specialists identified multiple measures that should be taken as part of a comprehensive energy management plan to drive down energy costs.
Flexera combined solar photovoltaic energy technology, energy efficiency measures and third party power procurement to drastically reduce Omega's escalating electric costs. Flexera's combined measures reduced energy costs by 45 to 50 percent and will also produce income from the production and sale of solar renewable energy certificates.
The solar system was the second part of a three-pronged approach Omega took to reduce energy costs on their 14,000 square foot facility in Newark, Delaware. Their efforts began by implementing a wide range of conservation measures identified by a comprehensive energy audit conducted by Flexera's NABCEP Certified solar design-build team, and BPI Certified energy Management Team.
