Stonegates Retirement Community Sets Record as the Largest Operating Commercial Solar Project in Delaware
Stonegates Retirement Community was looking to offset their energy consumption with clean renewable energy.
They were also interested in stabilizing their energy costs now and in the future. After much investigation and research, they decided that Flexera was the right company for the task.
Flexera first analyzed their energy situation, structural characteristics, and desired return on investment. Once this was established, Flexera system engineers started looking into all the solutions that would meet these requirements.
Eventually, Flexera selected an innovative PV technology which fit all of Stonegates' design criteria.
Flexera designed a system that would rest on their vast flat rubber membranous rooftops without having to penetrate the membrane. This high efficiency system utilizes direct sunlight, diffuse sunlight, and refracted light from the roof top itself.
The concentrated light collection and the passive tracking capabilities of the panel design in this massive 142,000 watt system will produce approximately 16,500 kilowatt hours per month or roughly 200,000 kilowatt hours a year.
