Fenwick Island, Delaware Restaurant Maximizes Roof Space Using Blended Solar Photovoltaic Systems
This Fenwick Island Restaurant owner wanted to maximize the amount of solar power on his roof. So, Flexera designers went to work and the result was a 14,560 DC Watt Photovoltaic Array.
Flexera maximized the south facing roof with 7,000 watts of solar power. Additionally, there was enough room for 7,560 watts of solar electricity on the flat roof above the kitchen and office.
These modules were mounted using a self ballasting system made by a local Delaware company. The estimated yearly energy savings come to 19,700 kilowatt hours. While these savings are great, it doesn’t stop there. This system will generate approximately 19 Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs) per year.
Solar renewable energy certificates (or SRECs) can be sold on the open market and have the possibility of generating an additional $4,950 per year. When you subtract the state rebate and federal tax credit from the system cost, the payback is very fast.
Another example of a Delaware based company, using Delaware labor and solar materials to meet the demand of the growing Delaware clean energy industry. Flexera is proud to serve our Delaware customers and is committed to creating new jobs and economic development opportunities right here at home in the state of Delaware.
