New Home in Harbeson Uses Solar H2O to Offset Hot Water Costs for the Long Haul
This family wanted to build their new home with the highest level of energy savings. Planning to keep the home for a long time, energy efficiency and cost controls became a priority.
They are approaching their energy plan in phases. The first phase was to install 2 Heliodyne solar hot water collectors to offset their energy needs for producing hot water for their growing family.
The second phase will be to add solar photovoltaic energy panels to their barn, which is tied to the same meter. Since they will recieve state grants and federal tax credits for both systems, they can offset the costs twice with an even greater return on their investment.
